A Serious Accusation - Grounds For Impeachment

  • Far more serious than the accusation of faulty information on WMDs in Iraq.

  • Far more serious than the accusation of spying on Americans without a warrant.

  • Far more serious than letting his buddies in sensitive office positions.

  • Far more serious than allowing his financial supporters get away with crimes against the enviornment.

George W Bush has crossed the line. I don't care if you are a Republican or a Democrat or an Independent. If you agree with what he said and do not think he should be impeached, you are as unAmerican as the President.

What did he say that was so bad?

*****************************************************

GOP leaders told Bush that his hardcore push to renew the more onerous provisions of the [Patriot] act could further alienate conservatives still mad at the President from his botched attempt to nominate White House Counsel Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court.

"I don't give a goddamn," Bush retorted. "I'm the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way."

"Mr. President, one aide in the meeting said. "There is a valid case that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution."

"Stop throwing the Constitution in my face," Bush screamed back. "It's just a goddamned piece of paper!"

*****************************************************

Do you have to even think for more than a minute why Bush should be impeached? His job as President is to uphold the Constitution. It is not just a "goddamned piece of paper", but his sworn duty to protect while in office. It is that piece of paper that makes America what it is.

If a Constitution is only a "goddamned piece of paper", then why did he make such a big deal that Iraq was on the right track because they have a similar piece of paper together? Why did we risk the lives of our soldiers for them to protect our own so-called "goddamned piece of paper." Thousands of people died to protect that document to which he places no value.

I do not think it is an overreaction to say he should be immediately ejected from office. His comments have reflected exactly what he thinks of our Constitution and our people. He is not even worthy of being called an American.
